CONCEPTUAL OVERVIEW
the last five years is a scrutiny, examining whether artist as a vocation is worth it. It seeks to lead each viewer by the hand through a journey of what has been difficult, challenging, and traumatic alongside the growth and the indescribable illuminations that have manifested, all in the hopes of uncovering the truth. To achieve a forthright, omnipresent view, artist and viewer transcend time and space through these 15 pieces, which strive to approach that which is felt through that which is seen. A tapestry forms among them, depicting the lived, emotional experiences of the individual rather than concrete moments in time. It is here where the verdict truly lays--that the answer sought is not found in explicit terms but reverberated throughout life’s turbulence and to be met in the present when placed on trial.
the last five years speaks to the universal call of commitment, recognizing the necessity faced by all of us to consider the question, “Is this worth it?”. Motivated by the silent, interior voice, we take these leaps in faith that require us to surrender our entire selves and accept a new course of life awaiting. And inevitably, a time comes for reflection, putting our once certain vows to the test. Commitment requires a dynamic sense of on-going renewal, and these moments of introspection only arise when the answer is already etched within our hearts. For only those matters of grave import elicit trembling at the prospect of their abandonment.

I want to give a very special thanks to my dear friend, Anya Klapischak, of The Hosting Artist Residency. Thank you so much, Anya, for our many conversations and idea-sharing that helped uncover this body of work I was feeling within me, and likewise for your support and encouragement along the way. I am incredibly grateful for you.
