Artist Statement
This body of work is a collection of converging and diverging series. Each series focuses on different ways in which human life is transformed and abused by the modern era. The combination of these series and their specific areas of focus create the conceptual framework for the POST-MODERN body of work, building into a continuously expanding network.
Each series is formed from a starting point that can be iterated over and over, growing and transforming ad nauseam. This infinite quality risks becoming expendable, mimicking the fast-paced, replicable, consumerist society of the present age. While independent, these series are meant to return back to one another and connect compositionally in order to form a similar visual vernacular translated from one concept into the next. As they grow, they amalgamate and then return back inward again. Agency develops and suddenly each series lives and breathes at its own rhythm. POST-MODERN is an on-going blend of examination, analysis, and critique of life in the 21st century that seeks to progress and swell in conjunction with humanity.
