COLORED PENCIL, PAPER, AND RESIN ON WOOD
26 INCHES x 26 INCHES
Note from the artist:
"The introduction of resin to this piece over two years after its initial completion added a new layer to the process, creating the saturation around the edges of the picture plane that encroaches upon the figure. Likewise, the oils within the paper are expected to react with the substrate over time causing discoloration. This piece deals with the concept of perception and the false sense of understanding an onlooker has of an individual when looking solely through a visual lens. As a result, the ongoing degradation of this piece that will continue to obscure the original image will serve to heighten this conceptual content."
